1. What should I expect during my first appointment?
Your first visit begins with a brief intake to discuss your goals, preferences, and any concerns you may have. This helps me personalize your session to your needs. I encourage you to arrive a few minutes early so you can settle in and enjoy your time without feeling rushed. But please do not arrive any earlier than 10 minutes before your scheduled time. The door may be locked.
2. How often should I schedule a massage?
That depends on your individual needs, lifestyle, and goals. Some clients benefit from regular sessions to help manage ongoing tension, while others schedule massages as needed for relaxation and self-care.
3. Do I have to undress completely for a massage?
No. You should undress only to your comfort level. I will step out while you get settled and will use professional draping throughout the session, keeping you appropriately covered except for the area being worked on. Your comfort, privacy, and boundaries are always respected.
4. What is the difference between a facial and a back or foot facial?
A traditional facial focuses on the skin of the face and may include cleansing, exfoliation, extractions when appropriate, and a treatment mask. A back facial applies similar skincare principles to the back, helping address congestion and uneven texture. A foot facial focuses on cleansing, exfoliation, and comfort, often paired with a relaxing foot and calf massage.
5. Do I need to know anything about skincare before booking a facial?
Not at all! I will discuss your skin concerns, current routine, sensitivities, and goals before beginning. Whether you are looking for relaxation, support for congested skin, or a little extra care for your complexion, your treatment will be tailored to your needs and skin's condition.
6. What is sound healing, and what does a sound bath feel like?
Sound healing uses instruments such as singing bowls, chimes, and other resonant instruments to create an immersive listening experience. During a sound bath, you typically rest comfortably while listening to the sounds and vibrations. Many people find the experience calming and use it as an opportunity to slow down, quiet distractions, and unwind. Everyone experiences sound differently, and no particular response is expected.
7. Do I need experience with meditation to attend a sound bath?
Absolutely not! You do not need meditation experience or the ability to quiet your mind. Simply get comfortable, listen, and allow yourself to be present. Thoughts may come and go, and that is perfectly normal. You are welcome to rest, adjust your position, or simply enjoy the experience in whatever way feels comfortable.
8. What is Reiki, and what happens during a session?
Reiki is a complementary wellness practice that originated in Japan and is often used to encourage relaxation and a sense of well-being. During a session, you generally remain fully clothed while your practitioner uses a gentle, hands-on or hands-off approach, depending on your comfort and preferences. Many people describe the experience as peaceful or restorative, although individual experiences vary.
9. Do I have to believe in Reiki or sound healing for them to benefit me?
No particular belief system is required. You can approach these sessions with curiosity and an open mind, or simply enjoy the opportunity to rest. Experiences vary from person to person, and these practices are intended to complement—not replace—appropriate medical or mental health care.
10. What if I need to change or cancel my appointment?
We understand that life happens! We ask that you review our cancellation policy before booking and provide the required notice if you need to reschedule or cancel. This allows us to respect our practitioners' time and offer appointment availability to other clients who may be waiting for a session.
